The Park Güell located in Barcelona, is a world heritage site since 1984 and is one of the great works of Antonio Gaudi. With more than 100 years of history, initially the Park Güell was going to be a private urbanization that Eusebio Güell commissioned to Gaudí. Later on, it was decided that the park would be converted into a large private garden that Güell would give away for public events. At that time it began to appear in the Barcelona tourist guides, thus becoming one of the city’s major attractions. This is how the Park Güell became a very well appreciated public park for the people of Barcelona and one of the most important focal points of attraction for visitors. It was recognized as a historical monument in 1969 and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984.
